The second day starts with a quick and soft breakfast at our hotel. After breakfast, we will quickly set our step-by-step reaching destinations inside Kathmandu Valley. First, we will start our journey by visiting Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples in South Asia. It sits alongside the Bagmati River, where people worship the Lord of Lords, Shiva.

From Pashupatinath, we will embark on a short journey to Boudhanath Stupa, where we will explore the insights of Buddhism. The prayer flags, praying wheels, chortens, and huge thangkas will surely blow our minds. Similarly, the Hariti Temple brings much joy to our journey. Hariti is a Hindu Goddess of chicken pox.

After that, we will explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, where we will experience the details of the history of Nepal during the Malla and Shah regimes. Also, we will reach Swayambhunath Temple, the first temple in Nepal, which is dedicated to Lord Buddha. The ashramas, praying wheels, huge Buddha statues, prayer flags, chortens, and mani walls are the major attractions of this temple.
Day 03: Drive to Gongar Khola [1350m/4428ft] via Jiri Charikot [7-8 hrs drive]

The third day is the actual initiation of the Pachermo Peak Climbing package. We will reach Gongar Khola today via Jiri and Charikot. From Dhulikhel, we will continue our journey via Arniko Highway and reach Pachkhaal and Dolalghat. The Sunkoshi River at Dolalghat is worth watching, while the green hills around the region are very intriguing. From Dolalghat, we must embark on around 4 hours of ride to Gongar Khola. On the way, we reach Charikot, the administrative headquarters of Dolakha District. From there, our jeep takes us uphill through the black-topped road to Gongar Khola.

Tonight, we will stay at a tea house.

Don’t get confused with the same name, ‘Dovan.’ Since there is also a place called Doban in Annapurna Circuit Trek, you might get into a dilemma regarding the place’s name. However, it is not the same place. Instead, it is a Sherpa village located en route to Pachermo Mountain.

To reach Dovan, we will start our trek from Simigaun and pass through several other Sherpa Villages. Along the trail, you can experience magnificent views of lush green forests and mystic mountain peaks, including Gaurishankar and Ganesh Himal.

Today, we will reach 4000 meters above sea level, so our preparation for the high altitude should be very tight. But the trek is only 3 to 4 hours long, which should not be exhausting but the high altitude might play a vital role in physical exhaustion. So be careful.

As we leave Beding Village behind, we will pass through the dense forest of fir trees. We will enter a valley that opens to a broad and flat landscape. As the valley ends, we will finally reach Na Village, from where we can get the magnificent views of Gaurishankar and Cho Oyu. There are plenty of tea houses to accommodate on the seventh day of the Pachermo Peak Climbing.
Day 08: Rest at Na Village
Location: Na Village
Activity: Rest & Acclimatize

Upon reaching Na Village at 4180 meters, it is time to take a full-day rest. As we mentioned earlier, a proper plan should be for reaching destinations above 4000 meters. Na Village is one of the locations above the designated altitude, where the oxygen level gets depleted and the air pressure increases.

So acclimatization is the best option to adjust the physical body to such heights. We must consider climbing high and sleeping at lower altitudes, hydration, nutrition, and enough rest and sleep.

Besides resting, we can also go on a short hike to Kharka nearby. Also, there is a trail to reach Yalung Peak Base Camp and Tsho Rolpa Lake.

As we hike uphill, we will pass through Chhukyima Village, where we can stop and rest at tea shops. We will continue our journey through the steep uphill section and eventually reach Tsho Rolpa Lake. From there, we can see the views of magnificent peaks like Melungtse (7,181 m.), Mt. Gaurishankar (7,134 m), Chobutse (6,685 m), Pachermo Himal (6,273 m.) and other Rolwaling ranges.

Today, we will reach one of Nepal’s high-altitude passes, Tashi Lapcha Pass, at 5755 meters. Remember, reaching Tashi Lapcha Pass is very risky and even life-threatening. The oxygen level is depleted, and the air pressure is very high. So carrying safety measures and supplementary oxygen is recommended.

We will start our journey to Tashi Lapcha Pass early in the morning. The trail takes us through the glacier, where technical climbing skills are required. We will reach the pass through a rocky ridge covered with ice and snow. The pass is also one of the highest viewpoints in Nepal, which opens a way to experience the views of the snow-capped mountains like Mount Everest, Gaurishankar, Ganesh Himal, and many others.

The high camp sits just 100 meters down from the pass. We will set up a tent for staying overnight at Tashi Cape.
Day 12: Rest/Acclimatization day at Tashi Cape
We have already climbed over 5700 meters above sea level and need another acclimatization and rest day to continue our journey. So, we will take a rest at Tashi Cape and acclimatize. We will follow the standard guidelines for acclimatization, focusing on hydration, nutrition, and rest.

Some climbers/trekkers even use Diamox to eliminate the risk of altitude sickness at such high-altitude locations. We will also prepare for the Pachermo Peak Climbing the next day.

Thyangbo Kharka Altitude: 4320 Meters

Elevation Loss: 790 Meters

Trek Duration: 5-6 Hours

Today, we will embark on 5-6 hours of downhill trek to Thyangbo Kharka from Ngole. We will follow the trail that heads towards the Kharka from the rocky slopes.

Remember, the downhill treks might bring more hassle after the exhausting peak climbing. So wear a pair of sturdy hiking boots and support yourself with trekking poles and energy-driving snacks on the way. A few hours’ push from the spot, we will reach Thyangbo Kharka, where we can find several tea houses for staying overnight.
